More Information
We had our first baby, a boy, on April 19. My wife has tried everything for successful breastfeeding, and produces about 10oz a day. However, our boy e is now consuming about 3oz every 2-3 hours. We have a neighbor who has kindly gifted us her milk (she has a 1 month old), but she cannot sustain the gifting with her current production and her own child in mind.
In short, my wife cannot produce enough milk for our boy, in spite of heroic efforts. We really need milk ASAP. Our criteria for both acceptable and ideal milk donors are below. We live a very healthy and holistic lifestyle in Colorado and try to produce all our own food, so it is somewhat devastating to not be able to feed our first child.
Acceptable Milk Donor:
-No Alcohol/Smoke/Drugs/Prescribed Medications
-Disease/Virus Free
-Limited Caffeine
-Balanced, Inclusive Diet
Ideal Milk Donor:
-No Alcohol/Smoke/Drugs/Medications/Caffeine
-Disease/Virus Free
-Animal-based diet (eggs, grass-fed meats, wild fish&game, etc.), prenatal & DHA supplement
-Healthy Lifestyle (Sunshine, Fresh Air, Exercise, etc.)
-No covid or flu vaccinations
