I have an oversupply of frozen breastmilk available. All milk is less than 6 months old and has been stored properly in a deep freezer.
I do believe the milk may be high lipase. Lipase is a naturally occurring enzyme in breastmilk that helps babies digest fats. In some frozen milk it can cause a soapy or metallic smell or taste after thawing. This does not affect the safety or nutritional value of the breastmilk. I have an oversupply and am still breastfeeding and occasionally pumping.
